Does angels has lesser powers than the devil? If not, why can the devil control and dominate the world when his opponent is much stronger than him?

Why would bad things like car accidents or murder occurring on earth? Angels doesn’t want to use powers to control the world?

The old argument of “if God exists, why would he allow any evil on earth?”.

God created a character-forming universe, He wants man to come into contact with the Grace God offers to put their intellects, hearts and souls to use to increase their moral-fibre, in order to put their faith into action for God’s greater glory. God can and does use angels to control the world, but they can only be invoked at our request. By our faith.

The devil has already been defeated. The news has not leaked out yet, due to our spirit being willing and our flesh being weak, and the devil puts ideas into our minds that the situation is hopeless, and to just give up, give into him. We must not do so, because God is with us, and assisting us by Divine Grace every second of the day, if we but ask.

The Devil IS an angel, albeit a fallen one.

Catechism
328 The existence of the spiritual, non-corporeal beings that Sacred Scripture usually calls “angels” is a truth of faith. The witness of Scripture is as clear as the unanimity of Tradition.

394 Scripture witnesses to the disastrous influence of the one Jesus calls “a murderer from the beginning”, who would even try to divert Jesus from the mission received from his Father.273 "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil."274 In its consequences the gravest of these works was the mendacious seduction that led man to disobey God.

395 The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite. He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature. He cannot prevent the building up of God’s reign. Although Satan may act in the world out of hatred for God and his kingdom in Christ Jesus, and although his action may cause grave injuries - of a spiritual nature and, indirectly, even of a physical nature- to each man and to society, the action is permitted by divine providence which with strength and gentleness guides human and cosmic history. It is a great mystery that providence should permit diabolical activity, but "we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him."275

The short answer is that the devil doesn’t dominate and control the world.

The long answer is that demons and angels have similar powers. It only seems like Satan rules this world because of our own actions. Satan does not directly cause the majority of the evil in the world. Man is fully capable of committing evil on his own. The world is only Satan’s in so far as we make it. He can tempt us, offer us lies and partial truths to manipulate us, but he does not do anything to this world on his own barring the rare case of posession.

Yes, it was through the original temptation of Satan that Adam and Eve fell. It is only this sense of causality through the fallen human nature that Satan dominates the world.
Why would bad things like car accidents or murder occurring on earth?
These are results of man’s fallen nature. No demonic influence is needed.

Satan mentioned 47 times in scripture

14 times in the OT
33 times in the NT

Satan was tested and he failed and was thrown out of heaven taking 1/3 of the angels with him Rev 12:4 who also failed. Now God allows him/them to tests us. We need to keep our faith and our wits about us. Because alone, without all our support system in place, we will fail.

I was taught that the devil/lucifer was the strongest/most powerful of all angels.

However, Mary is God’s most powerful creation. (Even stronger than the devil-thats why she’s always stepping on his head)

Not sure if this is correct…

Yes it is right, She does crush satan

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman(Mary), and thy seed and her seed: she(Mary) shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her (Mary) heel.

Because God allows these thing to happen in order to bring about a greater good. The only way demons can do any evil on earth is if God allows them to.

I am pretty sure the consensus is that the woman referred to in this verse is Eve, not Mary.

D-R Bible, Haydock Commentary:

Ver. 15. She shall crush. Ipsa, the woman: so divers of the fathers read this place, conformably to the Latin: others read it ipsum, viz. the seed. The sense is the same: for it is by her seed, Jesus Christ, that the woman crushes the serpent’s head. (Challoner) — The Hebrew text, as Bellarmine observes, is ambiguous: He mentions one copy which had ipsa instead of ipsum; and so it is even printed in the Hebrew interlineary edition, 1572, by Plantin, under the inspection of Boderianus. Whether the Jewish editions ought to have more weight with Christians, or whether all the other manuscripts conspire against this reading, let others inquire. The fathers who have cited the old Italic version, taken from the Septuagint agree with the Vulgate, which is followed by almost all the Latins; and hence we may argue with probability, that the Septuagint and the Hebrew formerly acknowledged ipsa, which now moves the indignation of Protestants so much, as if we intended by it to give any divine honour to the blessed Virgin Mary. We believe, however, with St. Epiphanius, that “it is no less criminal to vilify the holy Virgin, than to glorify her above measure.” We know that all the power of the mother of God is derived from the merits of her Son. We are no otherwise concerned about the retaining of ipsa, she, in this place, than in as much as we have yet no certain reason to suspect its being genuine. As some words have been corrected in the Vulgate since the Council of Trent by Pope Sixtus V. and others, by Pope Clement VIII. so, if, upon stricter search, it be found that it, and not she, is the true reading, we shall not hesitate to admit the correction: but we must wait in the mean time respectfully, till our superiors determine. (Haydock) Kemnitzius certainly advanced a step too far, when he said that all the ancient fathers read ipsum. Victor, Avitus, St. Augustine, St. Gregory, &c. mentioned in the Douay Bible, will convict him of falsehood. Christ crushed the serpent’s head by his death, suffering himself to be wounded in the heel. His blessed mother crushed him likewise, by her co-operation in the mystery of the Incarnation; and by rejecting, with horror, the very first suggestions of the enemy, to commit even the smallest sin. (St. Bernard, ser. 2, on Missus est. ) “We crush,” says St. Gregory, Mor. 1. 38, “the serpent’s head, when we extirpate from our heart the beginnings of temptation, and then he lays snares for our heel, because he opposes the end of a good action with greater craft and power.” The serpent may hiss and threaten; he cannot hurt, if we resist him. (Haydock)

Speaking of bad things happening, do you realize we are all going to die someday?
What’s up with that?
You won’t avoid it, and so maybe the question should be
“how are we going to live as human beings and all being human entails?”

Should we complain about bad things, or live with gratitude within the whole of life?

The angels don’t want to control the world obviously and the power the devil has is definitely allowed by God for him to have because overcoming temptations is part of Salvation. The world is not meant to be heaven. The world is an intermediary place between Heaven and Hell. People face temptations from the devil in the world and in order to get to Heaven they must reconcile with God and overcome temptations as much as they can while alive. So the nasty work of the devil is very much part of the plan of God. If God would have concluded that the devil must be gone he would be by now. But the fact that people fell too, not just the devils, made God sad and decided to give people a second chance here on earth. Theoretically probably the chance of redemption exists for the devils as well but that has not been revealed to us because it’s not our problem. Angels are different from us and their spiritual path is different than us. The Bible says God made man a “little less than the angels.” So even from Creation, before the fall, there is this “little” (from God’s point of view little, probably for us this “little” can mean “a lot”) that the angels have and share and we do not access to. But we can join the angels in the good actions of the Holy Angels and only that. We are forbidden to join the fallen ones and even if at some point Apocatastasis (redemption of the devil) may occur this will never affect us in any way and it won’t help us either in any way.
I don’t think the devil controls the world, he maybe influences the world some times, but not even God controls the world. The world is free and is our exam until the day of our private or collective Final Judgement. We have a lot more freedom in the world than we are willing to admit.
Look at pollution. That is a “man made disaster”. We did it.

Consider the following

“Jesus directly crushed the serpent and was directly struck by the serpent, while Mary indirectly crushed it and was indirectly struck by it, due to her cooperation in becoming the mother of Christ. Therefore, though the she/her and he/his readings of Genesis 3:15 are different, both are true, and Catholics have long recognized this.” From

Ty for the replies.
Here is another question.

What’s the works of the guardian angels?

The classic theory is that the devil is a fallen angel.
Ultimately God is in control, but the devil has some power due to the events of the Fall etc. in the Garden of Eden.
