I could see CAF itself changing… more Latino and less Anglo in its ethos. Often we non-Americans scratch our heads at some of the very American views expressed here that would more typically be associated with evangelicalism…
I am somewhat. To be honest I thought you meant something like “Catholic American Faithful” or something like that. But what kind of views do we white American Catholics have that are viewed as being more evangelical?
More respect for authority, less rampant individualism, less sex outside marriage, less sodomy, less usage of condoms and birth control, more donations to charity, better schools, happier populace, stronger community, less crime, no abortions, etc.
And there are also the questions which would come with that change.
Who would be king?
What about the constitution?
What about our rights?
The only king which I would bow to is Christ (and the Pope although I don’t truly view him as a monarch because of the lack of dynastic succession). Not an American king, not an Irish king (I’d probably usurp the throne), and especially not an English king (because as an Irish American who is Catholic I am his worst nightmare).
