If federal funds actually end up paying for abortion for PP, why would we care if the Hyde amendment is repealed?

This is a follow up to a thread I started: forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=1038120

It does seem true that federal dollars, in the end, do pay for abortions because it frees up money that would otherwise be allocated for other services to pay for abortions.

So why would we care if the Hyde amendment (which bars federal funding for abortion) is repealed?

Wouldn’t it change nothing?

Maybe a good reason is with the Hyde in place there may be less funding ( I’m not sure)

but if it is repealed there is no protection at all and funds freely allocated?. just a thought.

Because it should remain.

And re-emphased.

For in years a different admin. can want to use money for that reason…
