If I cannot attend Mass one Sunday, can I go to a Christian Church instead?

Hello, this weekend I am going to visit a friend in another state. I do not have a car so I have no way of getting to Mass on Sunday and I don’t even know where I can find a Catholic Church. However, she does go to a Christian Church. I was wondering if in this particular case that I cannot attend Mass, if I do attend this other Church with her, just because I still would like to worship God, would I be committing a sin?

Hi,

There are Catholic Churches all over the place. Google the Catholic Church in that town and ask your friend to get you there. Think of it as the last opportunity to attend Mass before you die. You don’t know that it isn’t I don’t think you would want the Protestant church to suffice in such a situation. There is nothing on the face of the earth can come close to what the Mass is. Don’t wimp out. Stand for something! Be an example to your friend for God’s sake. You are in my prayers.
