If I convert to Judaism, Will I commit a sin?

Catholicism acknowledges the Jews as the first chosen people. Christianity does not detract from the Old Covenant: Jesus was the fulfillment of it.
 
While I personally don’t believe you would be committing a sin (I’m not speaking of the Church’s view, just my own), I have to ask, if you’re asking this question in sincere contemplation of doing this, why you are considering converting to Judaism if you believe that Jesus is your Savior? And are you considering becoming a Messianic Jew? Or have you given up all belief in Christ?
