Is this biblical? or from tradition??
Good question. As far as I can see from my very recent studies on that subject, there is no basis to believe in angels having free will as humans do. This would lead to a discussion about how the angels had much more knowledge, and presence of God to make their choices.

Um, I could be wrong. But, the “fallen angels” have no afterlife according to what I know of the Catholic Church’s teaching on the matter.

There is no basis to believe or not believe in angles having free will as humans do…if it is not biblical or tradition. At least in “human free will” as we understand it…there could possibly exist “angelic free will”…which could be different from “human free will”. IMO, if it is not biblical and non-traditional, angles with free will are in the realm of “theological opinion”…i.e. a person is free to speculate as long as it doesn’t contradict their faith.
