Our best scientific evidence is that intelligent life arose through billions of years of evolution. That question actually seems like it would be harder for a Christian to answer. God is typically defined as omnipresent, so he would be present in the universe. So where did all the intelligence in the universe come from? It couldn’t be from God, unless a god lacking even a sliver of intelligence was somehow able to make himself infinitely intelligent.
I never said it did. I just think that it would be reasonable to say that God is in the universe. How could Jesus have walked the earth without being in the universe?
What is your definition of free will and why do you think material objects lack it? Sorry to get technical, I just know that a lot of people mean very different things by “free will”. I think that in the ways people typically define it, either the concept of free will doesn’t make much sense, or material objects can possess it.
