Would that single issue help you consider voting for that candidate?

Our local Congressman, Dan Lipinski, was defeated by a typical pro choice Dem in the recent primary. He was also pro small business, pro union, and publicly Catholic in his life. It was sad to see him lose.

I would be quite happy if the idea of political parties were abolished completely, and candidates ran on their own credentials, instead of a party behind them. That being said, there have been times here in the Deep South where I live, where the Democrats actually had a more pro-life candidate than the Republicans, and yes I have occasionally voted for a pro-life Democrat. However, if I ran for office I would probably run as a Republican. I was actually really sad to see that about Dan Lipinski by the way, I’m glad he stuck to his guns, even though I didn’t agree with a lot of his other positions.

If he’s pro life, it would make a big difference.
It would be great to see some democrats rediscover a commitment to the most vulnerable among us-the helpless child in the womb.
A third party would also be very appealing.

It might be possible in a Catholic ethnic neighborhood. That is how Lipinski’s district looked before gerrymandering.

Maybe in one of the districts in central Florida?

Perhaps. I agree with Democrats on more than I agree with republicans on, but the Democratic Party as a political entity is radically pro-abortion (among other things). As such, I’m wary of any candidate aligning with them, regardless of their abortion stance.

I would probably vote for a pro-life Democrat over a Republican.

I would probably still vote third party like I do now. I disagree with too many democrat and republican positions besides abortion.

Personally, no. I find that my values seem to align with the republican party more. Pro-life, pro-gun/2nd amendment rights, illegal immigration, and a lot of the time, pro-Catholic. I also find many arguments brought about by the left to be more based on feelings, not facts. I also don’t think things like socialism, free everything (education, healthcare, etc.) are smart or feasible. Republicans seem to know more about what is realistic and moral than the left, in my opinion. The left seems to hate anything Catholic and calls you a bigot for not supporting the lgbtq movement. So I vote republican.

I might vote for a blue dog, pro-life Democrat.

However, they are becoming fewer and fewer.

Besides being pro-abortion (and becoming more and more pro-euthanasia), the major issue for me is the fact that the Democratic Party is part of the Progressive Alliance. (1)

This is an organization of progressive & socialist parties across the United States.

What really bothers me is that the Democratic Party has removed their membership in the Progressive Alliance from their Wikipedia page, because when people look at the Progressive Alliance members, it’s obvious that Socialism is a big part. (2)

Their wikipedia page is locked down, the party controls it what’s on it. Back in 2016, they proudly listed their “International Affiliation” on their wikipedia page (3)

But sometime after Obama left office, they started hiding their Progressive Alliance affiliation, after they “demoted” progressivism to a “fraction” of their party from being one of the 3 main ideologies.

(1) Progressive Alliance - Wikipedia
(2) Democratic Party (United States) - Wikipedia
(3) https://web.archive.org/web/2016040...dia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)

I’m sorry, but the Democratic Party is becoming more and more socialist - too much so for me. The Republican Party isn’t perfect but I can still disagree with the NeoCons, Libertarians, & paleoconservatives & liberal conservatives in the party without selling my soul.

Unfortunately, we’d have to go back in time like Scott Bakula in the old ‘Quantum Leap’ TV series to find Democrat candidates at national level who are pro-life. So sad. If there are any presently, I don’t know who they are but would like to shake their hand.

I meant “across the world.”

It would definitely make me consider voting for the candidate. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer pro-life Dems. It was sad to see Lipinski lose. Another pro-life Democrat is John Bel Edwards, governor of Louisiana. But he seems like one of the last holdouts.
