If we are spiritual-physical hybrids, then why...?

There are some great replies in this thread already. I have to wonder how you expect to “experience” spiritual realities. There is no reason for us to believe that receiving a spiritual sacrament will manifest an “experience” (it is not ayahuasca). Also, spiritual occurrences (for lack of a better word) do not have to follow defined laws. For example, there is no universal “experience” that is felt after Communion. However, I know many non-catholics that are very aware of spiritual realities, some people can understand the spiritual world easier than others.

With that being said, I would like to propose what I have occasionally experienced. While praying after receiving Holy Communion, I have on occasion heard a noise in my head; you could call it a buzzing… however I find it more accurate to say it sounded like light… if that makes sense. What this means I do not know… it may mean nothing. It is important to note that I think this was a physical occurrence… however I also believe that since God created everything then that means God left a supernatural mark on everything.

God works in very mysterious ways. If you set out to have an “experience” then you will likely be left feeling empty. However, if you set out to know, love, and serve the Lord with your whole heart, soul, and mind then you will most likely experience the most wonderful spiritual realities (although they still may not be noticeable).
