This has been going around in my head for a few days now…
If you think someone is lying, but you aren’t sure about it, would you say anything??
On the one hand, you have a certain affection for the person, but he is lying to other friends. (Except you can’t be sure that it is a lie. But it looks & sounds suspicious).
Do you do anything? And if so, what???

If the people to whom someone is lying have the right to know the truth of the matter and it is expedient to do so, I would say something. If it is not expedient, I would attempt to tell them the truth at a later time. If they do not have a right to know the truth of the matter, I would not say anything to them, but it would be a prudential judgment about whether to say something to the one who was lying.

I’d say nothing unless you are pretty darn certain that the person is telling an untruth. And, even then, I wouldn’t accuse somebody of lying (which has an intentional component to the act as opposed to a misunderstanding, for example) unless I was sure that was the person’s intent. It’s a serious accusation.
