I have been buying many books and they are generally Ignatious or Sophia Press or combined. Where did they start and are they related and what are some of the other more prominant Press and are they any authenticated by the Holy Father in Rome ? I have some of pope Benedicts XVI and it is Ignatious any reason? Are there ones to avoid? Dessert

Ignatius Press is the primary publisher of the English language editions of the works of Joseph Ratzinger, now known as Pope Benedict XVI. It is a very good Catholic publishing house.

Sophia Institute Press was established in 1983 to publish
faithful Catholic books. It is an excellent Catholic Publisher also.

Emmaus Road is good.

Acension Press is another excellent as well as Our Sunday Visitor

Don’t forget Scepter Press, the publishers of the Navarre Study Bible and most things Opus Dei in the US, and Baronius Press, publishers of many great Catholic reprints and hard-to-find items, like the Douay Rheims Bible and the 1962 Missal!
