"Ikonos" and Galatians 3:1

on two, separate editions of Catholic Answers Live there has been a reference to Galatians 3:1 (You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?, and the Greek word “ikonos”. I can’t find an entry for “ikonos” at that verse, nor any where else in the bible. Any help?

Don’t know if this helps but I can think of only three words, one found in Gal

1. ikanos…enough, adequate, sufficient, much
   Matthew 3:11 "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire

2 Corinthians 2:16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things

1. eikonos…image, likeness
   Romans 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures
2. eikh…without cause or reason, vainly
   Galatians 3:4 Did you suffer so many things in vain – if indeed it was in vain

My Greek lexicon says that Greek word eikon (image, likeness, etc.) is pronounced: i-kone’.

the ‘o’
yup, the ‘o’ goes like cone when spelling is eikwn (nom.) instead of eikonos (gen.) like 2 Cor 4.4

the ‘I-’
I guess depends where from in Greece or what time
Koine ‘ei’ diphthong goes like eight
but in modern Greek like ee (me thinks ?)

as for Gal 3:1…stumped …thought maybe latin…nope, anyway Dogface Soldier said greek
