IL DIVO is a fairly new singing sensation. There are two tenors, one baritone and one pop singer. I have all the IL Divo CDs and DVDs.

I love the “Mama” video. It is a Catholic type video.
They have a procession with a man leading it that is holding a crucifix like the one in the start of a Mass.
They show a man kneeling in front of candles in a church and he is holding a Rosary with his hands folded in prayer.
They show a boy climbing on a statue of Mary with Jesus and the boy kisses Mary.
Urs (the one from Switzerland) wore a crucifix in the “Mama” video but I’m not sure if the crucifix is his or if it was just for the video. I do have to check again to make sure it was actually a crucifix as opposed to just a cross though.
… I just checked again and it’s only a cross.

They also sing The Lord’s Prayer but it’s the Protestant version because they add the ending to the prayer that Protestants say and that ending is not even in the bible.

You can get IL Divo music here. Their voices are well worth it. 👍

Here is a link to the video. It’s not the best quality but you can see it better than on other sites where the screen is teeny tiny.

Here is a link to a snippet of the video on iTunes. I hope it works because everytime I connect to the link my iTunes opens up. So if you have iTunes you’ll be able to watch at least just 30 seconds of it in a better quality as opposed to the other full length video in the link above.

Their Christmas CD has Adeste Fideles, Panis Angelicus and Ave Maria. They only sing the first verse of Panis Angelicus but they sing the whole thing in Latin. They sing Ave Maria in Italian but some in Latin.

I would love it if at least one of them was Catholic. But if not, that’s okay, I’ll still love their voices and I will be listening to them for a long time. Carlos has too big a head (enormously huge) to be Catholic LOL… but if he is, oh well, I’ll still buy their music and videos. 😃

I read the profiles in the official website and nothing was said about each of their religions.

I did a search and can’t find anything.

It’s not really important because I bought the first CD over 2 years ago. I then purchased other CDs. I then got the DVD that had the video “Mama” on it and saw it. So I loved their voices long before I saw the Mama video. I also got the Christmas CD after being a big fan already.

I am just curious if at least one of them could be Catholic.

I don’t know…but perhaps the Spanish guy…

I like them ,too:)

I just found out from the IL Divo Forums that Urs sang on one of the Johannes Passion CDs. But the one on which he sang is not even released publically. 😦

This CD supposedly is from 2003 but not even released?

Here is the CD cover. There are many of these JP CDs but this is the one on which Urs sang.

I have noticed that they sing Panis Angelicus on many of their CDs…

I absolutely just love them. My spiritual director gave me their CD/DVD album last Christmas…and this Christmas I have all of their stuff! not bad for one year, right???👍

I love Il Divo singing ‘Somewhere’
I think my favorite song is “Isabel.”

Oh wait, it’s “Hero.”

Well it could also be “La Vida Sin Amor.”

I also love “Un Regalo Que Te Dio La Vida” which is “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman.” That’s not the translation though. That actually says “a gift that life gave you.” I would like to think of a woman as “a gift that God gave” to man, and not a gift from “life” although we can think of “life” as God. 😃

Okay, I know I talk too much… http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/Alegre-Fe/Emoticons/BlahBlahBlah.gif

So I’ll leave now. :o
