when is the last time you heard in the news that someone who killed or injured others while driving had marijuana in their body? i believe the woman on Long Island who killed herself and all those children was the last one I heard about and one of the first in a very long time — DRINKING and driving seems to be far more of an issue in our country – i suspect that most people who use marijuana are not doing it and then getting into a car.

I think we are all getting too subjective about my original question - I am not asking for people’s opinion on the physical affects of pot - i want to know IF it were legalized or IF I were somewhere it was legal, would using it be a sin in the eyes of Our Heavenly Father and the Church His son established and guides???

is it a sin to use marijauna in a country where it is illegal?

How grave is it?

what if you use it moderately (like using alcohol) in a country where it IS legal?
The Bible says, “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.” Psalm 104:14
God provided the herbs for the service of man. Marijuana is a natural herb and there is nothing wrong with using medical marijuana. Marijuana is a natural herb just like any other herb. God created marijuana to service man. In my opinion, it is not sinful to use marijuana but just like any other thing, it is sinful to abuse marijuana use.

Just because something is ‘natural’ does not imply that we should put it into our natural bodies!

Arsenic is natural. It comes out of the earth. I doubt anybody would sprinkle it on their food because it was natural.

There are medical needs that arsenic can fulfill, just as there are for cannabis. That doesn’t mean that putting either into the human body on an ongoing basis is a good thing.

ICXC NIKA.

I feel Marijuana use is not sinful, or immoral. At the very least it shuldn’t be illegal. It is as acceptable as alcohol. However, overuse of anything is a sin. If one uses it as an idol, you break the first commandment. I think pot is something you must be cautious about. It is not for everyone because many overindulge.
