I'm confused about this version of the Divine Office

It says it has “Sunday Lauds, Prime, Sext, Vespers, and Compline; Prime, Sext” and then “and Compline for all other days”. Does that mean during the week I can only pray Compline?! If anyone has this, or can make sense of it, please comment.

Is that a problem?
 
It is probably designed for the average lay-person with a full-time job and family who doesn’t have time to pray it all everyday of the week. If you are looking for the complete version, I would invest in it rather than this one.
 
Baronius Press will later this year release a Latin/English version of the Divine Office according to the Rite of 1962. I would greatly suggest buying this when it becomes available.
 
This is the Angelus Press/SSPX version. I don’t know why, rather than Prime and Sext, it does not have Lauds and Vespers for each day. They are the more significant hours.

Do you know when they’ll release their “edition” of Clementine Vulgate by any chance?

I was inquiring at fisheaters about the new Baronius edition of the Divine Office, and the general consensus there is that it is the one to wait for. It is supposed to be out this year. It’ll be the three edition set, with side by side Latin and English, and have the Vulgate Psalter.

I agree with Genesis. It has the main hours for Sunday but not the rest of the week. There is no reason not to pray Compline every night. My Shorter Christian Prayer contains only Morning Prayer (Lauds) and Evening Prayer (Vespers) and one version of Night Prayer (Compline). It does have the 4 week cycle.
Prime would be midmorning and Sext would be noon. I do not see Non or mid-afternoon. [If I have the hour names wrong, I know somebody will correct me. I do not have my Christian Prayer with me. I did write the proper names in the front.] Christian Prayer is the single volume with the 4 week cycle and has all the hours. It is the version on your other thread, although I cannot tell you whether or not the zippered edition has ribbons or not.

Prime was abolished in the new LOH and therefore is not in Christian Prayer

The Hours are as follows
Matins - Office of Readings
Lauds - Morning Prayer
Prime - Abolished in the new LOH but present in Pre-Vatican II form
Terce - Midmorning
Sext - Midday
None - Midafternoon
Vespers - Evening Prayer
Compline - Night Prayer

Thanks. I don’t own a computer and use the one at the library. As I wrote in my earlier post, I have the names written in my Christian Prayer and we are in agreement. From Chapter IV in the Vatican II document on Sacred Liturgy we find the following:
98a)Lauds and Vespers are the “two hinges on which the daily office turns.”
b)Compline marks the close of day.
c) Martins may be recited at any hour of the day with fewer psalms and longer readings. It retains the character of nocturnal prayer when recited in choir.
d) The hour of Prime is to be suppressed.
e) In choir the minor hours of Terce, Sext, and None are to be observed. Outside of choir it is lawful to select any one of the three most suited to the time of day.

Well personally I prefer the 1 week psalter to the 4 week one. Further the Grail Version used in the modern LOTH is very much watered down. In terms of the different hours, according to the 1954 Short Breviary I have, just as Lauds and Vespers are counterparts, Prime is a counterpart of Compline.
