Well the church maintains that meekness, gratitude and kindness can counter envy. So you ought to practice those in particular.
So why don’t you spend some time each day thinking of what you have to be thankful for (gratitude) and ways you can be kind to those you feel are the target of you envy. Especially if it’s a sort of kindness they’ll never know was you. Remember what Jesus said about your left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing when giving (Matt 6.3). Much the same as that, quiet good deeds to those you are envious of. In action if you can, in words or in thought and prayer always.
This may well cause you suffering but stick with it, all habits are difficult to break and hurt at first and a vice like envy is simply a bad habit the good habit or virtue of kindness/meekness is what you are striving for. If you feel angry with these people strive to practice meekness, tell yourself to calm down and pray for them. Ask God to help you. Remember all you have to be grateful for and do some act of kindness for them once you feel calmer. Don’t forget to beg God constantly for the Grace’s of kindness, meekness, patience, perseverance and charity. He will give them to you. You can do this, it will take time, keep on trying.
Go to confession regularly as you can get sanctifying grace there for confessing even venial sins which will help you even more than you can imagine to conquer this deadly sin. God bless you. I will pray for you.
