Hi.
I’m a young protestant who has struggled with homosexual urges for many years. I have never engaged any homosexual activities, as I believe that to be sinful. I have, however, struggled with an addiction to pornograph.
i have also been exploring Catholicism for some time, and this has led me to devote myself more fully to prayer. I have even begun to pray the rosary! i’ve noticed such a profound change in my life. Please pray for me too. I desperately want to be a father and a husband, and a devoted Christian. Pray that God will grant this. I just don’t know what I’ll do with my life if God doesn’t work a miracle

Check out this website, it may be just what you are seeking to help you through your darkest moments. With all things, pray. You are never ever alone. I will add you to my prayer this morning at mass.

Good Luck, SS, and God be with you! Our hopes and prayers will be with you, too!

God Bless you searchingsoul. All of us have or have had struggles with sexual thoughts and issues. You are not alone! I suggest you find someone you can really trust (friend, priest, minister, couselor) to help you through. You will need someone else to help hold you accountable (not a negative person). Remember in the book of James Chapter 5 verse 16 “confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results” (NLT-Catholic reference edition)

May Our Lord Jesus Christ hold you close in His Most Sacred Heart.

I understand your desire to be a father and husband. That is my vocation and I’m grateful for it every day. However, your primary desire must be to be a devoted Christian. Personally, I like the prayer “Dear God, please help me to do your will and fulfill Your plan for me in this world.” If it is God’s desire for you to live a chaste single life, this needs to become your desire.

Like everyone, I too have a particular sin with which I struggle. It is amazing what can be done if I pray regularly for God to remove this sinful proclivity from my life, especially when I find myself tempted. But I’m confident that with a dedication of my God-given will and His actual graces, I will overcome this particular sin. This too is in your future if you continue to commit your God-given will and pray for strenght and courage. God bless you in your journey.

Daily Mass and a frequent reception of the Sacrament of Holy Communion and the Sacament of Reconciliation are invalueable, if one is able to attend.

Hi SearchingSoul,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers, I hope that you manage to follow the path you seem to want to - I am sure you shall.

Stephen Bennett - Reaching One Soul At A Time

***Emerging as One of the Nation’s Key Speakers on the Issues ***

of*** Homosexuality & the Homosexual Agenda…***

A Man who is Not Afraid To Speak the Truth***…* in Love.**

Stephen Bennett is a Christian song writer and recording artist whose music can be heard nationally on Christian radio. As evangelists and missionaries, Stephen, his wife Irene, his family and Ministry Team travel across the country sharing his music, message and Christ-centered, life changing story of complete freedom from homosexuality. Stephen’s story and music have touched the hearts of millions worldwide - offering a real message of hope and love to those struggling with same-sex attraction, as well as family and friends of those who are involved in or struggling with homosexuality. If you are not familiar with Stephen Bennett’s story, we ask that you first read it by clicking here.

Stephen Bennett struggled with homosexuality until he was 28 years old. Alcoholic, bulimic and a drug addict, his destructive life style nearly killed him. Over 11 years actively as a promiscuous homosexual man with countless male partners, many of Stephen’s homosexual partners and friends are tragically dead from AIDS. Finally, one day while happily involved in a long term, committed relationship with a man he was in love with, Stephen was confronted by a Christian woman knocking at his door with a Bible in her hand. He would never be the same again.

That was over 15 years ago. Today at 42 years old, Stephen is happily married over 12 years to his beautiful wife Irene - a Christian woman - who knew Stephen when he was actively living as a homosexual man and never stopped praying for him. Stephen and Irene are the parents of two beautiful little children, a boy and a girl. Their passion and commitment as a couple and as a family is to *make a difference *in the lives of millions worldwide with the truth.

Stephen Bennett’s message is one of love, compassion and exhortation to the church: that we need to love and reach out to homosexual individuals as Christ would. Many have been guilty far too long of “hating the sinner, as well as the sin.”

Simply, SBM is boldly reaching out worldwide with the truth about homosexuality - and truly making a difference!

Stephen Bennett appears frequently on secular and Christian television and can be heard nationally on radio. He is the Special Issues Editor on Homosexuality for the American Family Association in Tupelo, MS and writes commentary on the issues of homosexuality and the homosexual agenda for **WorldNetDaily.com. **When called upon, Stephen also frequently speaks on behalf of Concerned Women for America founded by Dr. Beverly LaHaye, in Washington, DC.

Many exciting things are happening here at SBM daily and we truly expect many miracles this year! We want to keep you up to date on everything, so please browse through the SBM website and come back and visit often. Information, resources, travel dates and links are added frequently. If you are interested in becoming part of the SBM Network either financially, through prayer or through volunteerism, please contact SBM’s National Ministry Offices today. May the Lord bless you and we thank you for visiting with SBM today!

Prayers your way. It is an extra cross that you carry so I pray for God to give you strength as you are trying to do right.

By all means check out Courage. There are many Catholic parishes which have “gay and lesbian” programs. Unfortunately, you won’t find Courage being promoted in most of them because it aids people in sanctifying their life through chastity. People with gay tendencies are called to holiness, much like those of us who are single, but heterosexual, for whatever the reason.

I am a single female, with everything in proper working order, including desires of the flesh. But, relations meant for validly married people are not my right. I find great comfort and companionship with God in the only way a single person can really experience it. It can be spousal.

I’ll be delighted to pray for you.
Believe me, you are not the only person to be suffering with that agony. I’d recommend highly not looking at the porno, cuz that only makes the temptations worse. Also, IF you self-stimulate, ask God for the grace (and ask repeatedly) to help you stop doing that. That will go a long way towards alleviating your suffering.
God bless,
Jaypeeto4 (aka Jaypeeto3)

Don’t be a father and husband just because you think that’s what society wants. Pursue that if you sincerely want to and have the heterosexual capacity for it. If not, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with living a chaste single life. You’d be in good company because many of the greatest saints were chaste virgins who achieved a high degree of holiness by consecrating themselves wholly to God and His service.

I have sent you a private message. Please be sure to read it. You can access it under your profile in the User Control Panel.

I will pray for you.

Hail Mary! Full of Grace! The Lord is with thee. Blessed are you among woman and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.

Blessed Francisco Marto, pray for us!

Thank you all for your prayers. I can’t tell you how much it means to me. With so much prayer offered, I can’t help but benefit.

To comment on some of the points raised above…

I realise that God might want me to lead a chaste life, and I am praying now for grace to accept God’s will. I’m also praying for God’s guidance - should I be out there looking for a wife I can love, or should i concentrate on accepting castity?

Also, my desire for a family is not derived from social pressure, although that was a reasonable point to make. I would just love to have kids. There would be so much joy in bringing up a famil, and to to be able topass on the faith. But perhaps, I’ll just have to settle for nephews and neices!

I thank God for you all and for your prayers.

SS

Dear searchingsoul,

I am not gay and I have a wonderful family. That said, I have struggled in ways that I was reminded of when I first read your post.

I have confidence the Lord can forgive you and heal you overwhelmingly. Do not blame yourself or keep telling yourself you are “bad” (a form of judgment) when you do these things. That will make them more compelling targets for satan to use against you. Simply know that you do not need these things, like you do bread and water and the Word of God.

Focus on the Eucharist, and make sure you properly dispose of yourself to receive by attending confession as necessary. The priest will advise you of whether your mental sins are obstacles between you and the Eucharist.

Peace,
Alan

You may also want to check out www.dads.org. This is the ministry run by Steve Wood. It is geared towards men and dads. He has a ‘Help’ section on his site to help men who suffer from pornography addiction, homosexuality, etc.

God bless you!

Bless your heart. Have you heard of Exodus International? This is a basically “Protestant” organization-- but Christians of every “denomination” have been greatly helped by these dear believers. This is a wonderful ministry!

I can somewhat relate to your pain-- I used to struggle with lesbianism myself, but once God got a hold of me, the desires and confusion left me instantly. Now, I know that is not always the case! I know a man who was delivered from a heroin addiction in the instant he cried out to Jesus for help-- yet there are many good Christians who struggle with all kinds of addictions on a daily basis. Why does God seemingly “zap” some of us, and others He heals over a period of time? I have no idea. But I DO know that God loves and cares for you, deeply, and wants you to live in His abundance!

Don’t give up the fight! I’m glad you found some relief in the Rosary; that is one of my favorite devotions, too. Check out the Exodus link I gave you, and the ones others gave you, too. Help and healing await you, my brother!!! Keep your eyes on JESUS!
:blessyou:
Oh! And read some of these testimonies for inspiration! :angel1:

I will pray that Our Blessed Mother delivers your prayers of the rosary to the feet of Her son - there He will ease your trials.
