I'm leaving the Catholic Church

I’ve come a long way with some of you here, and I thought that you deserve to know.

I’m not going to argue my reasons or anything, althoughb we can all guess why

It’s a very tough descision for me, but one that I have to make for the good of our family.

Thanks for all you guys’ help feedback guidance and assitance.

Oh no–! This is a sad day reading this. I have followed your threads on here, PM. I think that for many of us, me included, there comes a point in a person’s life where they do question if being Catholic is right for them. But, before you leave, I pray that you will reconsider. Just know, that we are praying for you.

But, also know, that if you leave…you will always be Catholic. You can always return. But, the rules will always apply. That’s a sticking point, that people want to shy away from, when leaving the faith. I remember reading about your hardships, and becoming Protestant, (not sure if that’s what you’ll choose, but let’s say you do for the sake of discussion)…God’s laws don’t change. I know it can be very hard at times…but following an ‘easier’ set of guidelines somewhere else, might actually end up causing you more strife.

I just pray for you, PM. I have not read through the whole thread here, but maybe by the last page…you’ve changed your mind?

But, for now, these are just some of my thoughts…God bless you.

I surely understand.
So comforting, to think that any one person is infallible - when teaching on faith and moral behavior. The difficulty is, that this is simply not true. We are rational beings. When the irrational is being taught as ‘truth’, the light of conscience calls our attention to the question at hand. We sense, immediately, that something doesn’t jell - in what is being taught.

The RCC, of our time, will go down in history as having had one of her most glorious moments - when Holy Mother Church stood against the taking of innocent, unborn life.
Standing up tall, and remaining unshaken - in the face of a secular culture that finds abortion convenient.

That, in our own day, the Roman Catholic Church proclaimed the infinite value of each human life, from conception to natural death.

Maybe if we all pray for his return to the faith…especially in this dark time for him, it will happen, God willing. Hey, anything can happen with God. Also I suggest sending up a petition to two of my favorite saints who always seems to be looking out for us and are willing to help , Blessed Mother and St.Philomena. Can’t hurt to try. Blessed Mother and St. Philomena, help penitentman, we pray.
