Hello everyone,

Well, this morning I was received into the Church. It was amazing. I took the confirmation name Therese (for St. Therese the Little Flower) and received First Communion and it was wonderful…I cried like a baby!

However, I have a long way to go, and besides struggling to overcome numerous venial sins, I often feel an INTENSE fear of God/Hell/Purgatory (and consequently, I deal with scrupulosity too) which I know impedes my ability to love Him like I should. I took St. Therese as my confirmation patroness for many reasons, but the main one is that she teaches that as long as we are striving to submit ourselves to His will (through the Church) and to learn to love Him and others as we should, we shouldn’t live in fear of God.

I would appreciate any prayers anyone would be willing to offer for the intention of helping me deepen my love for the Lord as I embark on my journey as an official Catholic. God bless you all.

My congratulations to you jtaski and prayers for you are being said… ! 🙂

:signofcross:

Many blessings,
Margaret

jtaski;

(Therese) Congratulations on making the hardest and most difficult step!

It is easy to be born into a faith and then nurtured in it. There are no second doubts when it is second nature!

You have our and your sponsors’ prayers.

To be perfect is to be merciful. And since our Lord said we must be perfect as our Father is perfect, then all we have to do is trust in the Holy Spirit, the Magisterium, the Eucharist, each other in the Body of Christ (His Church) and be merciful to ourselves and one another.

Your fears will fade and your heart will increase in love. You will notice how petty most ‘troubles’ are and enjoy cultivating the good in family and friends.

Life becomes living when God is involved. Good blessings to you and welcome Home.

Robert (Paul)

Congratulations, jtaski (Therese)!

What a wonderful and miraculous step you have taken! I am so happy for you!

Here is a prayer that I find inspirational. I hope it helps you each day to grow closer to the Lord our God.

and reach perfection under Your Guidance.
With Your loving care guide me in my daily actions.
Help me to persevere with love and sincerity.
Teach me to judge wisely the things of earth
and to love the things of Heaven.
Keep me in Your presence
and never let me be separated from You.
Your Spirit made me Your child,
confident to call You Father.
Make Your Love the foundation of my life.
Teach me to long for Heaven.
May its promise and hope guide my way on earth
until I reach eternal life with You

:harp: CONGRATULATIONS!!! :harp:

That is so wonderful! So you didn’t have to wait until Easter? (I’m not official yet myself) Did you go through RCIA? What was it like?

I shall pray mightily for you, my dear - I am so pleased!!! :blessyou:

Welcome to the Catholic Family! I’m so proud of becoming a Catholic myself, I know that at times you feel like you are walking on a cloud!

Remember that we are all sinners striving to become perfect. We will all have failures and faults. Satan does not work on what he already has so, keep your guard up and pray, pray, pray.

Therese Congratulations!

Love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, and with all your strength… Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Jesus died for our sins so that we might live for God, and do God’s will. We must always honor HIM because HE is who HE is, and we exist for HIM. Give Him your best, that’s all that is required for His love.

Father, I ask for Your blessing over Your child Therese. When she is down lift her up. When she is nervous calm her every fear. And when she can’t go on, give her strength. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. :signofcross:

God bless you and Congratulations!

You are in my prayers.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Heavenly Father, You sent your Spirit to transform the Apostles into heroes of evangelical strength on the day of Pentecost. Thank You for granting that same Spirit to Therese in the Sacrament of Confirmation. May she use the sevenfold gifts of the Spirit to more closely resemble Jesus and be a grace-filled witness in the world to You and your Divine Son. Amen.

Congratulations, and Welcome, prayers going up for you to THE LITTLE FLOWER,my patron saint also. GOD bless you on your journey.

Congratulations. You have my prayers. Lots of people go through a stage of fear as they grow. Keep praying and learning and know that you are never in it alone.
