All right guys, as most of you have seen my signature, yes, it’s the big day in 6 days.

However, I’m soooooooo dang nervous and scared to recieve the Eucharist!!! Yet excited!

Is this a normal feeling? Not to mention I always have a mental picture of me going up there and making a mistake in front of a billion people (like tripping, etc.). And of course, I get freaked out standing in front of a billion people and I hope I don’t shake up and do something wrong do to that!!!

Guys have any suggestions?

Welcome Home…

As a klutz who has spent more than my share of time in the sanctuary I am convinced that G-d grants a certain grace to those taking part in the liturgy. * Relax.*

If you are an adult and if you imbibe, I would also recommend having a cocktail before the event. Make it something special and make it a tradition to enjoy one of those cocktails once a year on the anniversary of your coming Home. Just make sure you don’t get tanked and that you don’t drink (or eat) within at least one hour of receiving Holy Communion.

When I went through RCIA, I wasn’t really nervous. My biggest memory of that night came at the time I was confirmed. The wednesday evening before, we held a practice session. I knew that I would be annointed with oil and would need to say “amen.” Well, when he put the oil on my forehead, all I could think was, “Oh, Gross!!!” He had to remind me to say amen.

Congrats - I remember being nervous but after I was baptized a feeling of calm and peace overwhelmed my nerves.

Congradulation
I was sacred but I was only 7. I was very excited as well. I am now many years older than 7 and I am still excited when I recieve my Jesus.

How wonderful for you!

Suggestion to calm down? Focus on Christ instead of yourself.

Слава Ісусу Христу! Слава на віки!

This looks like Russian. Is it Russian? What does it mean?

And congratulations to Paris Blues!:clapping:

You get to receive Jesus!

Congratulations, Paris!! I think being nervous is pretty normal–this is a huge step. If you get nervous right before the big moment, say a quick prayer and remember Jesus is right there waiting for you. He doesn’t care if you get klutzy.
