Perhaps it is just me, but I don’t feel like yelling “DEATH TO ISLAM” is a constructive way of dealing with the problem of Islamic extremism and violence. Seems to me, rather than distinguishing ourselves from these butchers, it brings us right down to their level. So, with respect to obadiah and ransomthecaptiv, wishing war with an entire religion (which has over 1 billion members, right around the same number as us Catholics), without any regard or concern for the fact that all Muslims don’t all think the same things or follow the same ideologies is just plain un-Christian. Clearly, paarsurrey is no threat to anyone, so to say we should “get rid” of him (and I don’t dare to even venture a guess as to what you would consider an appropriate means of getting rid of all Muslims, at the best, I suspect, its mere forced conversion to Christianity, but from the tone of your post, I fear you’re suggesting violence) is again, down right un-Christian. These are the type of posts that started this thread in the first place. I’d even say this type of stuff goes right past fearing Muslims, to outright hating them indiscriminately. I will be praying most strongly for more constructive dialogue between Muslims and Christians, this thread could certainly use a bit more of it.
God Bless
