Why does the image of the Blessed Virgin change when travelling the world?

I’m not sure I understand the question. If you mean, why does she tend to look like the people in whatever region she is being venerated or said to have appeared, I was always taught that she is the mother of us all and will appear physically like “her children” in a specific place.

So, the images of Our Lady of La Vang look different from Our Lady of Fatima who looks different from Our Lady of Guadalupe, etc.

Presumably, Mary in her glorified self is no longer bound by human form, so she doesn’t have to always look the exact way she did on earth.

Perhaps it is to accommodate and be relatable to each culture of people that She touches spiritually. Someone once told me that at a retreat. People are likely to listen better when it involves connecting with their heritage/cultural lifestyles… for example, Our Lady of Guadalupe touching many lives in Mexico after intervening in Juan Diego’s life in Mexico. After those miraculous experiences, that particular place in Mexico has inspired many people there to convert to Catholicsm and live dedicated lives for God. That’s amazing!!

Besides the fact that we don’t know how she looked like, she was painted differently so people could relate to her better. The same thing for Jesus. She is their mother, not the mother of the whites, blacks or any other race. (and also, a Chinese artist would be more likely to paint someone that looks like a Chinese anyway, people paint what they know)
