I was wondering if imagining that someone was kissing you is a mortal sin. I mean simply kissing, no nudity or sexual daydreams. Thanks for your help!

  1. *]Serious in nature?
    *]Full Knowledge?
    *]Full Consent?

Those are the criterion for mortal sin and I think you envisioning kissing someone doesn’t meet it. I should probably turn this question around and ask why do you think it might be a mortal sin?

I depends on what is meant…by imagining…and what is meant by kissing?

A chaste kiss??

Or a lustful passionate one???

And what effect does such thoughts have…

So it can be not a sin…

or can be even mortally sinful…

or it can be a temptation or an occasion of sin…e.tc

One has to judge the what …the why…etc

No, if
  • it is moderate (not habitual) so do not take your attention and time from other important activity (like, learning, work, etc)
  • do not target forbidden (adulterous, same sex, pederast, incest) relationship
