My grandfather has terminal cancer and has been very opposed to discussing religion. He was Catholic as a child and began going to a congregational church when he married. At my cousin’s first communion in the congregational church he out of the blue asked the minister to come over and talk, and I just found out he is going to do so tonight.

I’m in the midst of a novena to St. Peregrine that I have quite a number of people praying, so this really is not just another meeting, but very clearly a wonderful opporunity for Grace. The fellow is probably not gonna tell him to start going to Mass or anything like that, but God can certainly use this discussion in some way.

I am hoping that the minister at least challenges him to develop a closer relationship with Christ or something like that. I really don’t want him to give him some weak fluffy nonsense that will make matters worse.

So please pray hard or say some prayers between about 8 to 9 ET right now if you are reading it, or for the Holy Spirit’s working though him as he thinks about his words in the coming days.

Thanks, peace and God bless

We praise God that your grandfather has received the grace to call for his minister. In whatever way the Spirit chooses to speak into and move your grandfather’s spirit, I pray that He will.

Holy Spirit, you know the particular nature and need for this son of God; please let whatever is said between the minister and himself be as You wish in his particular circumstances and understanding. We trust You, Holy Spirit to speak and manifest through this man of God.

Holy Spirit, please help the grandfather through his final illness and lead him into heaven. Saint Michael, intercede for him and for his concerned family. God, give them peace and joy.

Thank You, God

I pray that your Grandfather will know Christ and be drawn to love and adore Him with all the time he has left.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Praying for your grandfather right now.

Our priest told us a story last week about a person who called him to their death bed and decided to make a confession, was able to recieve the sacraments and died in a state of grace within two hours.

How wonderful is that!
