An acquaintance of mine posted something on FB regarding the pope’s view on immigration and the walls around the Vatican, as if the pope is saying one thing (being open to illegal immigrants) but doing something different (having this wall to keep immigrants out of the Vatican)… the article is found at

I know this is not to keep illegal immigrants out. However, not knowing a whole ton of history on the Vatican, can anyone recommend good websites and a positive way to correct this misconception?

Anybody can walk into “the Vatican” though the archways on the boulevard from Italian territory. Nobody is being kept out.

I remember that when I visited the Vatican nearly 20 years ago… I was just wondering if there was a site or so, something that explains the purpose/history of the wall.
