would this be a wrong show ot watch? I’m almost all the way through it but I’ve noticed that there is quite a bit of portrayal of sins without negative consequences. for example, some of the fornication, willow and tara’s relationship.

although the storyline is mainly about conquering evil and many of the sins portorayed do have negative consequences, not everything does.

I guess I’m wondering if it’s bad to watch media where some things are positive that shouldn’t be?

By definition, is there such a thing as a MORAL vampire story? I mean, at a minimum there is blood-sucking, violence, bloodshed, and physical attacks, else it wouldn’t be a “vampire story.”

Aren’t you an adult? Can you not answer a question like this for yourself?

I’m just wildly curious about what sort of negative consequences you’re looking for…?

(Spoiler alert: None of these relationships have happy endings. That do it for you?)

well yes, but those things are noted as not being good. the other stuff isn’t

I know they don’t.

I don’t know, I thought we were supposed to avoid things if they glorified sin.

but not all of the series does that. the story is interesting overall.

its subtle things like this that cause problems, sinful and immoral stuff isnt so black and white, its different shades of gray, all done in an attempt to deceive.

Its really a form of desensitization and/or conditioning.

In my opinion, “is this TV show okay?” really depends on the viewer. Like, you need to know yourself.

If you view something that seems to support immoral behavior, is it likely to lead you into sin? If so, then don’t watch. If you’re the type of person who can watch it, appreciate the entertaining story while remembering it’s just a TV show, then it’s probably fine. Everyone has different levels of resilience to that stuff.

I think it mainly comes down to how strong you are in your faith. I watched Buffy growing up, and I still re-watch Angel from time to time (the better show, in my opinion). There is plenty of objectionable stuff in the show, especially when it comes to how Buffy and other characters handle their relationships. That said, there is also good that can be taken from the show, such as the necessity and importance of sacrificing for what is right.

If you’re strong in your faith and can distinguish between what is good and what is bad in the show, then I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with watching it. It’s certainly not as objectionable as show like Game of Thrones or Westworld.

I loved the campy movie back in the day but I never watched the series. If you looking for a good vampire series I would check out Forever Knight. Still the best show of that genre in my opinion. Basically vampire cop solves mysteries and looks for a way to become human again and redeem himself. 👍

I used to love this show back when it was in it’s prime. Of course there are sinful things in this show but what isn’t nowadays realistically!? What I do if I’m watching a tv show or movie and a storyline in it happens I don’t agree with or I feel it’s wrong, I either skip the rest of the episode or if I find it gets really sinful I stop watching. I know it’s not as simple while watching a movie but I’d just not watch it again, problem solved.

If you like buffy, I think you will love the syfy series "being human’ it ran for 4 seasons, it was the story of a werewolf, vampire and ghost in their early 20s living in modern day boston, trying to live the lives of normal people. It had a great mix of humor and terror imo.
