Immorally having a child

We often hear about couples where the wife may not survive a pregnancy and the couple wants to use ABC to protect her. Let’s take this situation and look at it differently.

The doctor tells the husband and wife that the wife probably would not survive another pregnancy and the baby might not survive either. Is it moral for the couple to try to get pregnant having this information?

It would certainly be imprudent. If they act in wanton disregard for her life, then it may even be sinful (“I don’t care if it kills you/me - I just want to get busy”). Though I still wouldn’t classify it as immoral, as sin and morality are different things. If they continue having relations, they are morally obligated to do so with openness to life.
