People often cry during confession due to sincere contrition, not always, but it’s not uncommon either. Besides, I think unless there is something going on that we KNOW goes blatantly against Church teaching/Scripture we do ourselves and perhaps others (depending on how vocal we are), a disservice. The Priest is aware of his duties. Trust that is he spends a little extra time with some parishioners it is because he sensed the need to do so.While I was waiting in the row of the confessionary I begun to think that people were thinking they were psychoanalizing and thought that the priest maybe is taking Reconciliation as a psychoanalitic session. The priest is a little unorthodox so it was easy for me to think that, because they were taking too long to confess, and I saw the people “talking” with the priest and crying. Did I do something wrong? Thinking impatiently that the priest was taking it maybe like a psychoanalist?
Thank you.
