Joseph was a just man, good husband, good father, and a saint. Were there any men who started out as less than perfect husbands and fathers who eventually became saints?

St. Augustine had a child with his longtime girlfriend.
edited to add, I changed my post because i read a different story about St. Augustine.
I had always heard he left his girlfriend and child when he decided to follow God.
Now I am reading that his girlfriend decided to end the relationship, give their son to his father and herself enter a monastery?
The son was baptized and died shortly thereafter.

There is a book named “Saints Behaving Badly” by Thomas Craughwell. that tells the stories of some saints that started out as big time sinners. Saint Augustine is one that is covered.

St. Philip Howard from 16th century England is one. He was so consumed with his career that he neglected and for a time deserted his wife, Anne. He was apathetic about religion until he heard St. Edmund Campion defend the Faith, and this led to his conversion. He was then a model husband and very pious, and he was eventually caught up in the religious persecution of that time. He was one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales, canonized in 1970.
