So, my wife is having me go through a bible studie with her. No problem, except I have seen a word redefined. It is the word US and WE. Simply put, Eph1:1-14: The word We, adn US is frequently used. It is saying We are sanctified. He redemed Us, He predetirmined US.
Commentary: it is using the word us to mean less than what it means. US meanding the Appostles. We meaning Followers of christ. If put into that context, I understand (though do not agree) with its teaching. IF We and US mean thatm then I can easily see now where predestination theology, once saved always saved theology, and as well as many other theologies come from. if us and we are defined as such, your definitions do then become scriptural.
However, every time We and US is used in the new testiment, the author (unless be exlicit) mean we - the human race, us -the human race.wiht that uderstanding, Ephisian for example becomes actually much mroe beautiful. Put “The Human Race” in palce of US and We in Ephesians for example, and the entire chapter means something completely differant.
Do not believ eme that this is what is meant?
If you (any one you) go up to someone and say “God came to save us but we have to accept him” are you talking about us the beleivers? or us the human race. You are always implying that it is Us the human race. otherwise your statement makes no sense. This is what Paul is doing!
I could be wrong, And i withhold any comments or follow up posts and open it for free debate. i want to see what others have to say.
May Christ bless each of you in your journey towards him
