I did some research on wether he actually said that or not, and all I found were bits of sentences he said, taken out of context.
Always read the modern day press with caution and scepticism. That’s my motto.
But the article I posted is official, it’s from the Vatican News from the Vatican site. Cannot get more official than that. I just don’t know German to know exactly what it says there.

And the article I posted is also from thesame Vaticannews website right?
I checked it out yesterday. I did some digging yesterday and read some related articles directly in german before I came out with that post. I realised Vatican news just copied the article from another website which copied it from a german LGBT website. The english translation of the heading of the article says " Cardinal Marx never spoke for blessing of homosexuals" and this article was also found on vaticannews in 02.18. So how can Cardinal Marx refute something 1 year before he says it? It is not possible. Vaticannews probably was careless and omitted to check the source of their information.

It’s ok:). I also expected vaticannews to be more careful. Such things happen at times

I don’t doubt there are some parishes which hew to the Magisterium. Holland as a country has a terrible reputation for something we might categorize as either liberal or libertarian, or a mash of both, and the Church there is as infected as society, it appears.

A friend of mine belongs to a RC parish that requires tithing. One can’t be a member of that parish unless one gives tithes. They have a 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration chapel (which has an icon of the Virgin of the Passion [Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the RCC]), a parish school, various ministries etc.

The EO church in our area also encourages people to tithe. They suggest starting out small and working your way up to 10%. They also put out a stewardship bulletin insert at least once a month. (I occasionally check their website.)

My Ukrainian Greek Catholic parish is very small and Father only asks people a few times a years to give generously. He doesn’t want to pester people about money unless it’s necessary.
