In Confession do you go into details or do you name the type of sin and how many times it was committed?

In my experience, the priests will often ask for more details
I always gave details until I read on this site to be brief and be gone, so I started doing that. Then the priests would usually ask for more details, so now I’m back to where I started and give more details so they don’t have to ask.

This is interesting. Do most of you list the specific commandments involved when you confess?

I think it would be good to show that you know how to classify your sins. When i go i was thinking of saying “I broke the ___ commandment when” or "I commited ___ when " then a sentence detailing what happened. Then how many times.

One should state the sin and number of times one has committed the sin. It assists the priest with some direction, e.g. you masturbate once in a month or 10 times a day: makes a difference. Also, be humble: if you have committed fornication for example, dont just say, “The sin of impurity”. Admit what you have done, because it is humbling. Nothing I hate more than confession, and nothing I love more than confession.
