I’ll be visiting Frisco Texas this Easter… any suggestions on a good orthodox parish to attend?

My mother lives in Frisco. I visited St. Francis’ Parish there. I’ve never heard anything there unorthodox, that is, in opposition to the Church’s moral or doctrinal teaching. The priest is young and I’ve heard better homilies, but he didn’t say anything heretical.

You should know that the parish is in the process of getting ready to build a church, so they meet in what will be the parish hall. They have chairs, not pews, and no kneelers for now. They use EMHC’s, so if you have a problem with these things, I would rec. that you look elsewhere. I sometimes attend a parish in Dallas when I visit my family, Christ the King. It’s also on Preston Road, which runs through Dallas and Frisco. It’s quite a way south, however. It is much more architecturally pleasing and they sing the old music. It’s the Pauline Mass.

Actually, we attended St. Francis last Christmas. Some of their practices were a little ‘off’ but not much further off than my home parish. I found the homily was a little ‘lite’ even for a Midnight Christmas (or should I say ‘especially’). It’s only a few miles from my brother-in-law’s, so that may be where we end up. Thanks.

You could try to find out if there is a parish in Little Elm, which runs right up against Frisco to the east.
