I currently send my 13 month old to a woman who watches 2 other children in her home. well, in 12 weeks, there will be another little one coming (a new baby of a mom who already takes her first born there) and in May there will be another one… mine! Also, in the summer, she gets the older brother and sister of the other child who goes there. Come June after my maternity leave, there will be one 9 year old, one 7 year old, one 3 year old, two 18 month olds, a 5 month old, and then my newborn!
My question is, does anyone know the laws of how many children a person can babysit for if they are not certified? I personally feel that the above is too many children for one woman, but then there are some of you out there with 7 of your own and you do just fine. So, first, I would like to look into what’s legal and what’s not and then decide where to go from there. I figure if the law says 7 kids is too many for a non-certified babysitter, they must have good reason for it, right?
Any direction anyone can give me is greatly appreciated!
