On October 22 Father Michael Sherliza left this world for his journey towards paradise. He was my priest and confessor. He was a great priest. He was a grand and sometimes salty character, waiving his cane around during homilies. I miss him very much.

Please pray for his repose. I have added his very last words and his picture from the Atlanta Journal.

I love you Father Mike.

All are invited to wear a black fedora (Fr. Mike’s signature) to the Mass, if you wish. He personally said that he would love this! Last thoughts directly from Father: “Trust in God’s mercy and love. Repent and believe. Don’t fear the confessional…Yay, God!” In lieu of flowers, Father Mike has requested that, if you wish, donations can be made to either Saint Vincent de Paul or Catholic Charities. Peace.

Dear Father, in Your infinite mercy please grant eternal repose to the soul of Fr. Mike…I pray that he would shine like a star in heaven and would praise and glorify you in Your presence eternally…in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Praying for your intention for Fr Mike

Philippians 4:6-7 : Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Dear Jesus, in Your name I humbly ask that you receive your good servant Fr. Mike into heaven and comfort those who mourn him on earth. Thank you in advance. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please have mercy on the soul of Father Mike Sherliza. As his earthly life came to an end, his spiritual journey has just begun. Father, please bless Father Mike with safe travels to Your eternal kingdom, to bless him with passages through the gates of St. Peter, where Father Mike can live eternally with your Son, our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
