I know I’ve asked before here about going to Mass ill - well, today (and yesterday, and the day before that), I have been sore all over (I helped my mom’s boyfriend on a moving job Friday, we had to carry a bunch of tables, dressers, and leather couches up stairs), and beginning yesterday, it has been hard to swallow due to a sore throat and cough and I have alternated between having cold chills and sweating, even though my environment is almost always cool (I couldn’t tell recently; my room is usually the coldest in the house, and I was hot and uncomfortable last night).

It hurts to walk, it hurts to sit up, it hurts often to move anything more than my fingers and head at this point. But I am in a state of grave sin and feel the need to go to confession. I couldn’t yesterday, because my family and I were on the road to put flowers on graves. I do not want to miss Mass, though, regardless of whether or not I confess prior to Mass and manage to fulfill my penance, I don’t think receiving our Lord would be wise. I can’t wait for next Saturday, because I’ll be a counsellor at the MDA camp from then until Friday.

help please . . .

ZDHayden - hello, hope you are feeling better…erm…pls do not be too harsh on yourself missing mass (If it is not deliberate) since your are down with sore throat, flu and cough. In such cases, it is better to be indoors (socially responsible)

wish you a speedy recovery !🙂

One does not get a sore throat and cold chills from a moving job. Stay home, stay in bed, and stay hydrated…and whatever else this illness calls for…

I know, I must have caught something sometime after the move… I hate missing Mass.
