In perilous times, put Divine Mercy image on your door

People are printing it and putting it in the window. I may do that. I already chalked the doors for New Years with the blessed chalk though so I would think my home is protected.

I used the blessing on the Feast of Epiphany also. I not only chalked my door, but I blessed each room in my home with the holy water. Our parish provides the printed words, chalk and holy water bottle for our parishioners every year.

Fr. Alar showed us how we can bless the image of Divine Mercy before we put it on our door. I had not seen anything like this before.

How beautiful! It looks like a good size, much larger than mine.

How creative! Did you bless it, too?

Hello, @(name removed by moderator),

From the website in my original post:
Father Alar gives this further direction: With the situation in various places and dioceses, if you are not able to have a priest bless it, “the Church allows you to invoke a blessing yourself. The Catechism of the Catholic Church [in 1669] teaches that lay people, on account of their baptismal priesthood, may administer certain blessings.”

How to invoke such a blessing upon the image of Divine Mercy in this circumstance? He instructs: “While making the Sign of the Cross over the image say, ‘O Lord I seek your blessing upon this image, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.’”

Last night, EWTN showed a presentation on the life of St. Faustina.
I thought those of you who put the Divine Mercy image on your front door might be interested, as I was also, to learn what the speaker told us. After she died and the war broke out in Poland, there was a person devoted to DM who put the image on their door. It was a wonderful tribute to the protection of God, that after the bombing of that area, the only home that was entirely preserved was the home of that one person. All others in the area were destroyed. Praise be to God!

I finally got mine up today. I processed around the yard with it for Rogation Day and then put it on the inside front door. I also put St. Jude below Jesus for good measure. St. Jude was my father’s patron saint.

Sorry for the reflection but it’s through the glass on 2 doors (storm security door and inside door).

Good for you! I think the key element is complete trust in God’s loving mercy. St. Jude, along with St. Rita, is known as the saint of the impossible. With St. Jude and the DM image, you will be surely protected from all perils.

I was able to locate EWTN’s presentation where the speaker related the image of Divine Mercy had been placed on the door of a home, and it was spared from destruction. Scroll to 41:09 to listen to the account on EWTN’s website here.
