Hi all. As I am approaching my first communion as a confirmed catholic, I am ready to get serious in my dating life but it appears the past few dates were “empty” for lack of better words. I have nothing ill to say about the women I went on dates with as they are very nice and seem to have their lives together. Being at the ripe age of 35, sometimes I wonder if the good ol’ traditional values still exist. I’m not interested in doing things prior to marriage that should wait until afterwards (moving in, sex, etc).

I have never given online dating a shot but I’m thinking about reconsidering. I have heard nightmares about some of the catholic sites and so many have told me people who have profiles up, wear the catholic title but are anything but catholic. Is there a site or some sort of dating mechanism where singles in my dating range actually adhere to traditional values? Around mid to late 20s to early 30s? I won’t use the word devout because that has a different meaning to different people but at least partake in the sacraments, helping those in need, etc. I currently live in Annapolis, MD and am not sure why my profile keeps defaulting back to Savannah.

Any sort of insight or advice would be appreciated.

You have to edit profile and save changes.

Have you thought of volunteering at your church? Joining a prayer group? Get involved and get your face shown around. I’ll pray for your success!

As someone who is in her mid-thirties and and still single all I can say is that yes: the traditional values still exist. The older you get the harder they are to find but trust God that he will connect you when the time is right. Like someone said, get involved inside the community on some level. I would also suggest if it doesn’t exist already, start a group that is dedicated towards single Christian people in your area. As Christians there are so many things we all have in common therefore by starting something Christian, that will entice the single people to come out, who knows perhaps cupid will send his arrow in your direction. If you need some help with this aspect, message me. Perhaps I can give you some suggestions in how to start a group.
