In the case of miscarriage, is having a D&C a sin?

I recently had a miscarraige at 8 weeks. Due to lack of symptoms of miscarriage (cramps etc) my Dr suggested i get a D&C, which i did. My family is now very upset with me because it the same medical procedure by which abortions are performed. Is this a sin?
 
Hi,

The D&C procedure that the doctor performed on you was not used to abort a fetus, but is what is ordinarily done to maintain the health of the uterus after a miscarriage-which you had. Your family’s concern is misplaced. There is not sin here.
