I heard that other denominations have a spirit of deception and a spirit of rebellion on Catholic Answers Live. This does not mean they cannot be better Christians than I am myself…but the fact remains, for even those who know about the Faith deride it and the Sacred Host is one of the issues.

I hope I have made myself clear…

How extremely unproductive 🙂 - they often say exactly the same about us - or else we have this: An evangelical site for Catholics who are ready to repent of Roman Catholicism and want to know how to be saved.

More to the point, that kind of talk is not easy to reconcile with the great friendliness shown to other Christians by Rome in the last 40 years. If “other denominations have a spirit of deception and a spirit of rebellion” is meant as a well-informed description of those denominations, it looks as though the Church is talking out of both sides of its mouth 😦

So which is the truly representative view of the Church: the condemning, or the friendly one ? I’ll take the friendly approach any day - it has the advantage of being supported by Rome’s behaviour ##

There is no doubt that they say the same about us:) …I have an evangelical brother who put flyers on the ALL the cars at my daughter’s first communion saying that the Catholics are going to hell. Yes, I am much aware of their shenanigans. They may be sincere, but, they are sincerely wrong. The Eucharist is essential to Catholcism. If It did not exist, we would be just like the rest of the religions…one big prayer group…😦

You must have edited your post! I stand on my statememt…and maybe I should be more clear. Any Christian that was born into that faith, it is to be understood that they are sincere. Any Catholic that leaves Mother Church to enter into any other denomination may be sincere, but sincerely wrong! And could be decieved by a spirit of deception and rebellion…Especially those who denigrade Catholicism…
