In the Old Testament, were the sacrificial animals ever eaten?

Hi, I am a Catholic Film Writer trying to find agents and produces for Catholic writers, but my main question is: when Animal Sacrices / Burnt Offerings in the Old Testimet, was the animal completely burnt or was it also eaten? I need this to finish a script.

Thanks

Hi,

I am correcting what I wrote. Only certain parts were burnt. The priests were given certain portions for food as payment for their service as proscribed in the Law. Of course, the Passover Lamb was roasted and eaten under very specific requirements (Exodus 12:6-9).
