If someone had to choose to save the life of either their mother or the whole world - can they choose to save their mother? Is this because we have a duty to care for individuals and we owe more to our family than other individuals? Could someone answer this definitively …

You’re probably never going to be in a situation where you’ll have to save the world.You may have to save your mother. Why does it have to be either/or? Saving the world would include your mother.
