Can you describe your individual religious beliefs? I am catholic, born raised and have to answer this question, but was looking for others and wonder how you would answer it.

On an individual level, we have the blueprint set forth from the Church, yet along a personal, or individual perspective, it is always in a state of flux. What is established for us to follow, and individual experiences are never the same, it’s like a catalyst of sorts, and what happens afterwards, each person experiences on their own. Adoration for example, there are some people praying in a very deep way during it, I cannot possibly understand what each is experiencing, but it’s beyond real words when it comes down to it, and all different.
We tap into our more spiritual sides exclusively, and our perceptions are completely transformed, bottom line here.

Hm . . . when I think of “religious beliefs”, I tend to think about doctrine and dogma–the stuff in the Catechism. The Church has described those for us (though we may understand them differently, and with varying degrees of clarity). Those are the beliefs of the whole Church, and they’re mine too, since I’m part of the Church.
When I think of the “individual” in terms of religion, I tend to think of devotional practices: Adoration, the Rosary, Bible study, daily Mass, etc. Things that are spiritually beneficial, but lived out by different Catholics differently, and not necessarily required.

This seems like an enormous question. But I’ll give it a try:
God is a communion of three Divine Persons, eternal, perfect in love, justice, truth, mercy, and anything good imaginable or unimaginable. He created the physical universe with immutable laws, both natural and moral. He created humans to be in communion with His Trinity, but we rebelled. Choosing to break the moral law. God gives us chances, tools, gifts, and grace to bring us back into union with Him thoughout history, but does not snatch us up outside of our own will.
The greatest act of bringing us into union with Him, also known as “heaven,” is coming completely to the natural universe as a human, Jesus, known as the Incarnation. He humbled himself to share in our humanity that we might share in his divinity. With this human and divine life, He shares with us the truth about Himself, which is the Truth itself. The culmination of this gift is His crucifixion and resurrection. Since God has unending mercy, he offers us union with Him despite our previous rejections of it. Since God has unending justice, our rejection must be penalized (can’t think of a better word for it). But He pays the penalty Himself! In the natural laws He established at the begining of the universe that sin causes death, just as mass causes gravity. But he gives *His *death for *our *sins.
This moment of redemtion is present at every Mass, in the Eucharist, or thanksgiving of Jesus’ sacrifice. His body is present to us just as it is on the cross, givng all He can out of love for us. God has left us the Church to perpetuate the administration of his gifts to us, and to be the Body of Christ. As the Body of Christ, we are to minister to the world around us. The incarnate body of Christ healed, delivered, taught, saved, preached truth; the Body of Christ (the Church) is to imitate Him, and the individual members of the Church all have a part to play.
I sound like a textbook. Please forgive me. Beyond this, and probably even some of the things I mentioned, I feel would be getting way to specific.

Well I am not sure how catholic I am, I am concerned about being Christian though. My beliefs as follows - The Bible is the inerrant word of God and the highest rule of Faith, We are saved by Faith alone through God’s Grace alone, I believe that their is only one mediator between God and Man - Christ, and glory belongs to God alone.
I know my screen name and I realize this isn’t very catholic of me, but given everything in that is scandalous going on in the Catholic Church I question if it really is “the” Church and not just one among many

Well I am Catholic in my set belifes, but my prayer life and understanding of what God is influenced by Christian, jewish, and islamic (mostly the sufi schools) philosophy. As well as the teachings of plato, and left overs from my years in the occult. My views on God are compleatly orthodox I just like to see how others view the One God. My general view is “I love all churchs, mosqus, temples and shrines for it is in these sacred shrines I find people of all nations and languages praising the the One God in the name they have given Him.” But it is in the Catholic Church that I have found a home for truth I can depend on.

Catholicnow, I pray that you will take the time to study your Catholic roots, please do not be drawn away from Christ’s Church. Scandal does so much harm and often times is the justification used by those who are confused and misled about The Church to lead people astray. Please do not take up false teachings and flat out deception without examining fully what you will be walking away from as a Catholic. There is no such thing as the Catholic denomination. The Church is Christ’s Bride. Spiritual warfare is alive and well and it takes strength and prayers to overcome false snares. Clean out the old and fill it with Faith and allow God’s Grace to work in you and through you.

For any of us beliefs are just that. They are beliefs. Faith. Not 100% absolutely certain knowledge.
I say this because if we are truly honest with ourselves, for believers it all can only begin with faith in something. Be that something a Creator. Or a Holy Book. Or for some a faith in ECFs. For others faith in reform.
But as Christians our unity in Christ, unites us all. And our unity in Him far outweighs any differences which we might have.
Indeed as children of God, we are His.
Let us strive to love one another as brothers and sisters. God bless and peace.

• This pain and suffering is caused by becoming attached to certain senses and wanting after these senses.
• There is hope to rid one’s self from these attachments that cause suffering.
• The way to cease these attachments is through the Noble Eightfold Path.
