Indulgence and reading Scripture?

I was looking at my Douay-Confraternity Bible printed in 1961 and on the 2nd page above the Imprimatur, it had this message:

A PRAYER BEFORE THE READING OF ANY PART OF HOLY SCRIPTURE

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, and
enkindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send forth Thy
spirit and they shall be created. And Thou shalt renew
the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, who didst instruct the hearts of the
faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us by
the same Spirit, to have a right judgment in all things
and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ
our Lord. Amen.

An indulgence of five years. A plenty indulgence
under the usual conditions is granted if the prayer
has been recited daily for a month.

AN INDULGENCE of three hundred days is granted
to all the faithful who read the Holy Scripture at
least a quarter of an hour.

In the part you quoted I think “plenty indulgence” should read “plenary indulgence”. Sorry, I did a double take when I saw that one…

An indulgence is the extra-sacramental remission of the temporal punishment due, in God’s justice, to sin that has been forgiven, which remission is granted by the Church in the exercise of the power of the keys, through the application of the superabundant merits of Christ and of the saints, and for some just and reasonable motive.

As of 1968, the indulgences for reading Sacred Scripture are:
A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who use Sacred Scripture for spiritual reading with the veneration due to the word of God. A plenary indulgence is granted if the reading continues for at least one half hour. (Enchiridion Indulgentiarum, 1968 edition, no. 50)
