Oh of course I still don’t fully understand Conformation since it can be done too infants.

I always understood it as you stated until I found out about the eastern rites.

But that is another matter.

I think there’s more to it than that. The OP started out by stating (not asking):

MRRY79:
I would like someone who baptizes infants to show me in the bible where there is support for this. thanks
followed by allischalmer saying:

allischalmers:
They cann’t
And we don’t hear from either one of them again.

Some folks come here to get an understanding of Catholicism while others just come here in a predetermined mind-set that “my church is correct or my beliefs are correct; therefore the Catholic Church is wrong.” No matter how well the questions are answered it is very, very rare (if ever) to hear someone say: “hmm… I understand; you Catholics make a good point there”.

Wild Gray Wolf…that should never keep us from trying. Someday we may run into just such a person and really help them find the truth. God bless them, they don’t understand that the more they do this the more we learn about our own faith too…so thanks Allis and MRRY…you just reinforced my belief in the Catholic Church.

I agree, I had for awhile a falling out of my faith. As I explored and wandered around looking for it, I came across many differant religions. The more I listened to all the non-catholics the more I began to see the truth in the Roman Catholic Church. All their arguments are very hollow once you dig beneath the surface.

You are right of course and I agree, but sometimes I can’t help feeling discouraged from time to time.

I would like for you to tell me where in Scripture does it say all truths revealed by God are containied in Scripture and where in Scripture does it say infants and those who are incapable of knowing the faith are not to be baptized.

Where does it say that you shouldn’t?

I would like to point out that in the early church while immersing was certainly the most popular way to baptize… they did not immerse in the way that modern baptists do. They also baptized infants by “pouring”. They immersed in living water (i.e. in a river) and not in a tub as most Southern Baptist or Independent Baptist churches do today. Immersing in a tub is unscriptural… and has no support in Scripture. However, we have documented evidence of the earliest Christians immersing as well as pouring water to baptize, and infants were baptized as well. Where in Sacred Scripture is the prohibition of baptizing infants? I would love to see it. From the Didache:
Didache 7:
And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, in living water. But if you have no living water, baptize into other water; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head into the name of Father and Son and Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized to fast one or two days before.
Infant baptism:
Saint Irenaeus:
For He came to save all through means of Himself – all, I say, who through Him are born again to God – infants, and children, and boys, and youths, and old men. He therefore passed through every age, becoming an infant for infants, thus sanctifying infants; a child for children, thus sanctifying those who are of this age, being at the same time made to them an example of piety, righteousness, and submission; a youth for youths, becoming an example to youths, and thus sanctifying them for the Lord.
Now, both of these works were put together before a council of Catholic bishops decided (with the guidance of the Holy Spirit) which books should belong in the New Testament and which were apocryphal. I’d think these early Christians would know what was licit and what was illicit… 🙂
