Is it a sin to influence somebody to do something wrong? I have a a little cousin a little younger than me that I think he might masturbate but I’m not sure. I never have and I don’t know if he thinks I have and does it or what. I never told him to do it or anything like that. Just wondering if it’s a sin.

Yes this is the sin of scandal.
I have a a little cousin a little younger than me that I think he might masturbate but I’m not sure. I never have and I don’t know if he thinks I have and does it or what. I never told him to do it or anything like that.
So let’s get this straight:
  • You are not committing this sin yourself.
  • You’ve never talked to your cousin about this sin.
  • You imagine he is committing this sin, but you don’t actually know that for a fact.
And somehow you think you are sinning. How did you come up with this convoluted reasoning that you are leading your cousin to sin when you are neither sinning nor encouraging him to sin?

What sin is it that you are committing?

This sounds like scruples to me. You need some help from your pastor.

You said you didn’t teach him to do wrong,
therefore, rather than worrying or presuming what he is or isn’t doing, pray always for him,
and be peaceful in being kind, and a good example.
