Info on origin of Bible

Anyone knows where I can get info on who put the Bible together? I know it was the Catholic Church but I want reliable hard fact. Thanks.

Good point on the deuterocanonicals. I am not Catholic, but have thought for some time that their exclusion in many Bible is unfortunate. They seem to have just as much value to me as some of the other OT historical/wisdom books.

I also thought you might look into the Council of Jamnia. I thought there was an extensive article in the Jewish Encyclopedia on this, but I couldn’t find it. The Wikipedia article has some external references and information that might be useful:
