I received a book called “Inside the Vatican” for Christmas. Now, its not the National Geographic book with the same title that I am hoping to buy soon, but rather it is a book written by a Jesuit priest names Reese about the interworkings of the Vatican. The book can be found here.

Just wondering if anyone has read it and, if so, is it worth reading? The reviews seem positive, but also note that the author has certain biases…

Would like to read a Catholic-friendly book about the Vatican, so I’m hoping someone can offer opinions of this book!

Thanks 😃

As you read the book, keep in mind that the author, Thomas Reese, is the Jesuit priest who, at the insistence of the Vatican, was removed as editor of “America” magazine for repeatedly publishing articles contrary to the faith.

Oh, I did not know this. Thank you Mr. Keating!

I’ll keep the book only if its worth reading for factual purposes. Otherwise, I’d exchange it for something else.

Ive seen the National Geographic video and thought it pretty good, no anti-Catholicism that was apparent to me, and gave a good look into the behind-the-scenes of the Vatican
