Something in my spirit sort of awoken and I felt inspired to be a more gentle, loving and closer to God woman while seriously just watching a short clip from a movie from the, Chinese YouTube channel “ Church of Almighty God “ they don’t even quote from the Bible and use a completely different book from what I recall from watching their movies a few years ago, but this scene had a bunch of women sitting around talking about God in such a beautiful way that just put me at such peace .
I guess God can use anyone, even non Catholic movies that praise Him to inspire a Catholic?
Sorry if that sounds like a five-year-olds question but I do mean it sincerely, i’m just usually not very inspired, these days anyway, by anything other than Catholic speakers/books/saints.

As I write this I looked them up And found a headline that I did not look into that says they are a violent cult so that’s interesting. I don’t know the full story but if anything is true how odd that I was momentarily inspired by a group that may not be very holy. What is wrong with my understanding here.
Thank you if you understood this, any thoughts appreciated.

I don’t think anything is wrong if you found momentary or lasting inspiration. I find that I am sometimes inspired to love God, or other people, by things that are not religious at all. Sometimes something just “speaks to us.” I don’t think it matters as long as it is good.

Obviously one needs to be conscious of the fact that there are things out there meant to subvert ones thinking, but I don’t think that is what we are talking about here.

For example, I like to listen to some gospel music that is not Catholic.

This is exactly what I needed to hear and could not put into proper words.thank you very much and God bless you and your family ❤️:pray:t2:

@MarthaSo, I would like to send you a pm, but it says you are not accepting them.

oh! I will look to change that I’m not sure how but I’ll definitely look right now ! thank you

God is not limited to religion. We can find Him anywhere, even in secular things. Some other faiths are more incomplete than incorrect. We can still find some truth in some of their teachings, just not the full truth in all of them, as the catholic church has.

Although I am not familiar with this group, I wouldn’t put too much trust in a headline until you research it. Ever seen what some people post about the catholic church? I’m sure there are people who believe that all religions are violent cults. It may be true, but you’ll have to research and decide for yourself.

Very well put, thank you. Unfortunately I just learned today this religion believes that Jesus has returned and is living as a Chinese woman in NY.

Yikes.

Well that may be untruthful, errant and misguided…but it doesn’t sound like a violent cult so they at least avoided that. Consolation prize? 😛

Seriously though, where do they get these ideas?

I know! and unfortunately they are linked to violent crimes, one even captured on video which I found pop up immediately in a google search, I
only saw a few seconds of the video as I scrolled to see the comment section and there were people like me who were inspired by their movies (though something felt off when they were reading from the authoritative text which the viewer would presume was the Bible but definitely was not) but said they would never watch again after this knowledge.

That’s too bad. Hopefully you can keep the inspiration you felt while rejecting the other stuff!
