Revelation 5:8–8And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

The article in CA says…

in Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering OUR PRAYERS to God under the form of “golden bowls full of incense, which are the PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS.”

Are these OUR prayers? or the Saint’s? im confused with the explanation…

I believe it is yes and yes.

Look at it this way. Suppose you and I were talking and you said you had a problem with your kids. You might ask if I “would pray for me that I can have more patience with my children”. When I am praying later in the day, I’ll say “…oh, and if it is your will, would you please grace Fidei with more patience with the kids”.

So, I would be offering “your prayer” as part of “my prayer”. In the same way, the Saints take “our prayers” (your prayer, my prayer, my wife’s prayer) and offer them to God as part of “their prayers”.

We are the saints - or at least, we are some of them. New Testament references to “saints” are to all the faithful, not only the canonized. The saints are those “who are being saved” (1 Cor 1:18), not only those whose salvation is complete.

Thanks for your answer. I never looked at it as an example in small scale as asking for prayer from a friend before

Asking prayer to a friend (from ME)–thus the friend prays for me through HIS prayer! (thus having one prayer in mind between two parties).
